It was only a short time ago Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan wanted to borrow $18million to renovate the Madison County Jail. It was then that a group “Bonds on Ballot” gathered over twenty thousand signatures to place the bond issue on the ballot. The public overwhelmingly opposed Alan Dunstan’s $18million pork project.
When at first you don’t succeed, try again. So, Alan Dunstan wants to spend $9.3 million of Madison County surplus cash to renovate the jail. This renovation includes $1.4million to firms that have given significant political donations and overall cannot be justified as a legitimate cost for this project. More to come for sure…
