CHICAGO- The Illinois State Board of Elections voted 4-4 in a deadlock in the challenge brought by Dallas Cook against three Democrat St. Clair Judges trying using an unethical election tactic to avoid retention.
The board then voted 6-2 to send the matter to the Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan (D) for a legal review.
The challenge will probably not end there and will most likely end up in a legal challenge in Sangamon County Court.
Most observers expect this case to end up before the Illinois Supreme Court for a final ruling.
Dallas Cook, who is bring the challenge, is running for St. Clair Circuit Clerk and has said he will pursue the case to the Illinois Supreme Court if necessary.
